Folklore-based value profile of the Slovak culture: use of folktales in cultural studies

The article describes the use of folktales in courses on intercultural communication. It is based idea that globalisation has made competence a highly needed competence. Students can benefit from studying focused theories about culture and their application practice. Folktales are an excellent source texts originally transmitted oral tradition through history. They reflect values practices cultural community. heroes/heroines represent ideal patterns behaviour while villains opposites. Analysing these stories, students learn lot not only own but others as well. We provide list possible tasks help them understand various layers cultures implement knowledge theory practical way. Whether practising seminars, doing home assignments, or proving understanding tests, enjoyable effective mode learning.
